This week we are having VBS in the park. It has been wonderful! Windy, but wonderful. I think this has been the most productive and least stressful VBS I’ve ever participated in.
Basically, we have three stations that we rotate kids through. We have split the kids up into three groups, and rotate them through games, crafts, and a lesson. Then they are all together for snacks, music, and counsel time.
We have a guest speaker each day for lesson time.
The lessons are about being a ‘fisher of men’.
Shan and I are doing craft time where we are going over the 10 commandments and also reinforcing the idea of being fishers of men.
I only have one picture of game time – Tim said that to get good pictures he has to interrupt or get involved in the game. 😀
They are playing soccer, tug-of-war, and tag. Basically having good clean fun and exercise.
The music and counsel time reiterates the themes of the week.
So far, it has been a great week. Today, we aren’t supposed to have as much wind, which will be nice for the craft we are doing. 🙂
In other news…
Mama, I have not found out about the Roddy’s house. I have searched, but they haven’t been online, so no news. I’ll let you know when I find out. Here is a link to an interview with Nathan and Amber at the remains of their home. http://www.itv.com/news/update/2013-05-22/tornado-survivors-sheltered-under-mattress-to-survive/?action_object_map=%5B344551235667644%5D&action_ref_map=%5B%5D&action_type_map=%5B%22og.recommends%22%5D&fb_action_ids=10151945025309937&fb_action_types=og.recommends&fb_source=other_multiline%2F
Blessings: My dog. The other night, she scared off some drunks that were getting too close to the house. People don’t know that she’s all bark and no bite. 😉
