Every third Friday we have a minister’s meeting in Kearney. This time we made a point to meeting with some friends who live in Broken Bow. (If you don’t live in Nebraska, you may need a map for some of my posts. 🙂 ) My friend brought some of her kids down and met with my kids, who are all very good friends and play homeschool basketball together. We went out to a Chinese buffet for lunch and then Tim and I went to our meeting. While we were at our meeting, our kids were able to go bowling together and play miniature golf. Afterwards, we traveled to Broken Bow and spent the night with our friends. We had a terrific time together. That evening we watched a movie. Usually I am not one to promote many movies, but we watched, ‘Saving Mr. Banks’. It was one of the best movies I have ever seen. You all should really rent it or buy it. Warning, though, you will want to immediately watch ‘Mary Poppins’ directly afterward. 🙂
The next morning, all of us girls went to my friend’s church for an Adult/child/infant CPR class. It was a great refresher, and I appreciate being able to take the class. It’s amazing how much CPR has changed since I was first certified 25 years ago.
As friends who don’t live close to each other, it was great to be able to spend the extra time in fellowship in a more relaxed setting, rather than at the sidelines of a basketball court. We have made it a goal to get together more often.
